Outfit Post – Crunch Time

Leather Jacket  – Revival | T-shirt dress – Mink | Boots – ZU

It has exactly been a week since I’ve posted! It’s reaching that time again where I am getting overwhelmed with assessments, work, bills and other commitments.

Until now, I thought I was doing quite well; staying calm, keeping everything together and I was even posting regularly (I have going to the gym regularly and eating healthy to thank for that). Until recently everything came crashing down.

I think I just got a little overwhelmed with everything. It’s so much harder trying to do everything by myself, trying to be an independent woman is tough!!!! Hahaha!  But the upside is I have 2 weeks of stressful assessments whilst juggling work and I can finally breathe. Plus I know all this pressure and stress will benefit me once I’ve completed my studies.

So I will try to at least post once a week if not twice the next two weeks, no more of this business were I disappear for 3 weeks hahah!

Moving on, I’ve been really excited to share this outfit post with you guys 🙂 I bought this T-shirt dress at Mink for super cheap and it is super comfortable!!! It is a tad bit short but I fix that by wearing black shorts underneath to stop the unwanted flash.Since the top is a light grey, I find it looks best teaming it with bold colours like black and a touch of red. To complete the look I popped on my white boots, which I also got on sale (SCORE!). This compliments the white print on the dress underneath the jacket.

Thanks for visiting 🙂

Outfit Post – Summer calls for a new change

Top – Agent ninetynine General Pants | Skirt – Paper Heart   Mink | Sandals –  Bonbons Wanted | Retro Sunglasses – Marc by Marc Jacobs

Photos taken by – Yunn Chin Photography

I know you guys are use to seeing me with my hair straight with a full fringe like in my previous outfit posts but recently I’ve been dying for a change!

I am trying to grow it out at the moment, so to resist cutting it and prolonging the process of growth by killing my hair with bleach; I thought it would be best to wear my hair naturally.

Yup, my hair is naturally curly …It’s kind of weird because it wasn’t always curly; I was born with straight hair but for some reason in my teens my mother’s genes kicked in then BAM! One day I woke up with a head full of curls.
I haven’t given up the full fringe yet; I might go back to it when I get bored wearing my hair naturally.

There is also an upside to wearing my hair curly, it literally takes me 5 minutes to fix my hair since I no longer have to straighten it 🙂
Plus I find the curls suit summer clothes for the hot weather in Sydney (However, the past couple of days it has been more humid then sunny -.-‘) Just a secret between you and me, my forehead would get crazy sweaty under that fringe in hot weather, so I think I choose a good time to give the fringe a break for now hehehe.

Speaking of Summer, I’m so ready to hit the beach, bring out the shorts, skirts, singlets and dresses. Like this awesome skirt that I bought a couple of weeks ago, totally loving it at the moment! I’ve been wearing it with plain tops like white and black basics, perfect for casual days and not to mention teaming it with the occasional pop of colour. It even got featured as a “look of the day” at my college Woot Woot! Check it out on my Instagram under the photos I’ve been tagged in – @fashiondiction

What about you, are you looking at making any changes to your style or hair due to the weather?

IXIAH – Resort 13-14 Collection

INCA

RESORT 13-14 COLLECTION

“INCA captures a Mayan adventure through a textiled journey of abstract lines, fine-spun embroideries and flashing hues. A sleek array of blue, neon and pink silhouettes hang beside provincial crochet dresses  and pullovers.

Fringe work takes flight in metallic thread and woven gems surface throughout.Iridescent beads reel in and out of master-cut shirts while hand-artistry comes to life in a sequence of skirts, dresses and statement vest’s.

Designer, Krystel Davis was stirred by travels through the Andes mountain range,“This idealized landscape of shimmering pools and snow-capped harmony was the foreground to illustrations for Summer 2013.Interpreting the land’s composition in detail at all scales, from intricate thread work to the all-encompassingportrayal of the highlands in bold hardware on jackets.”

The INCA collection is a legacy of polished contrasts, rich applique and a scenic design aesthetic. This pre-Columbian inspired range sets off IXIAH Summer 2013, arriving in selected stores this November.” IXIAH press release

Some of you may remember my excitement when I had attended Sydney Fashion Weekend earlier this year (you can check it out here). The runway show was where I had laid eyes on IXIAH, the amazing designs of Krystel Davis for the first time.
The unique designs had left such a lasting impression on me that I had been converted to a lover of the label ever since.

Now they have released a new collection, which I am so excited about. Incorporating bright colours (my favourite), vibrant prints, crochet, unique fringe work and metallic pieces.

The new collection Resort 13-14, is perfect for every occasion this summer, with your choice of summer dresses to evening wear. I especially love their selection of gorgeous maxi dresses.

Check out their new look book below, featured on their website – http://ixiah.com/

Outfit Post – All White Everything

Crop Top – AQ/AQ formerly Aqua by Aqua | Shoes –rmk

Photos taken by – Yunn Chin Photography

I know your use to seeing me in bright colours and bold prints but recently I have been drawn to the colour white.

I made the discovery while I was doing my laundry; I had unknowingly collected a stack of white pieces.
Even my collection of shoes have been affected, besides its usual excessiveness (shopaholic), my shoe rack has been taken over by the colour white.

I mean it is everywhere!!!
The annoying thing is I was looking for white shoes last year and I couldn’t find a decent pair anywhere, now almost all pairs come in white.

Ok, Guilty, I have been influenced by this years “all white everything” trend. But I actually really like white, besides black it goes with most colours especially pastels and grey. It is clean crisp, timeless and elegant.

The only thing I hate about the colour white is the fact that it easily gets dirty. If you’re a messy eater like me, I’m sure you understand the pain of attempting to eliminate food spills on white garments but this is a small price I am willing to pay hehehe.

So just giving you a heads up, you’ll probably be seeing some white pieces in my future outfit posts.

Have you been getting sucked into the white trend, if so, I’d love to hear what pieces you have in your wardrobe or shoe rack?

Prints For a Good Cause

Australia’s sunburnt country has always been an attraction for aggressive bushfires during the dry Australian summers.

This year we have seen what is “believed to be the worst bushfire disaster in the state for 45 years” [1]
On the 25th of October 7News reported a total of “57 bushfires burning across the state, with 23 uncontained”.[2]

In the past month we have seen a large number of people who have been heavily affected by this year’s bushfires; losing homes, loved ones and most residents left with nothing but the clothes on their back.

Last week I came across some awesome prints, created by a friend who is a talented artist.
Her website – www.ariellemonsters.bigcartel.com/products, is dedicated to selling the prints featured, with all profits going towards St Vincents De Paul, a charity that is currently helping bushfire victims by providing food, shelter and clothing.

The profits from the prints have already raised a $500 donation for the Vinnies NSW Bushfire Appeal.
We are just at the start of the bushfire season so now is the time to by a print for a good cause!

Here are some of my favourite prints from the website from the talented artist Ariellemonsters:bunny_squarekit_squareslothsquareYou can get these prints at – www.ariellemonsters.bigcartel.com/products (Deliveries can take up to a week and is only limited to Australia at the moment.)

You can also follow the artist Ariellemonsters on Instagram under @arriellemonsters

“Although in times of these emergencies the public are keen to donate clothing, blankets and furniture, Vinnies and other welfare agencies say that financial donations are the most effective way of helping.” [3]
