Akina Bridal Couture Photoshoot – Behind The Scenes

Behind the scenes photographer – Yunn Chin

There is a first time for everything and styling this bridal shoot was definitely a first for me.

Before every shoot during the research, planning and preparation stages, this is the time where the vision I’m trying to portray becomes clear as day. However, since I had never styled bridal before, I was unsure of which direction to go.

It was the photographer Nelson Cortez (also the photographer behind the (Photoshoot with Versace, Emporio Armani and Gai Mattiolo) who assured me that I would do fine and looking back now I’m so grateful for that little push of encouragement, resulting in such beautiful images.

Even though the end result was so much more amazing than I could of imagined. There are definitely some improvements that I would make from my end that could of really helped during the photoshoot. That’s what I love about styling, every time I do a shoot, I always look at the things I could have done better and take it as learning experience to better myself.

This time we had a big team of makeup artists, hair stylists, gorgeous models and photographers, which consisted of some of the most talented people I have met so far.

The gowns we were working with were from Akina Bridal Couture and each gown was beautiful, seriously! Having a small fashion design background, I really appreciated the craft and sensitivity seen throughout the designs by owner and designer Tracy Woodham.

Here are some behind the scene photos from the shoot, I’ll be posting the finished photos soon so stay tuned.

Thanks for visiting 🙂

Photoshoot with Versace, Emporio Armani and Gai Mattiolo – Behind the scenes

Happy Saturday 🙂

Since I’ve started fashion blogging, I truly believe that I have been blessed with such great opportunities.

A couple of weeks ago, I was asked to style a photoshoot for an amazing fashion photographer Nelson Cortez from Fin Photography.

Nelson was the photographer for Miss Universe 2010-2012 and the photographer for Miss Country. As well as working in numerous fashion shows including Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. Check out some of his amazing work at www.finphotography.com.au

The model for the photoshoot was an international model and finalist for Miss Universe Australia 2011, Christiana Fischer.

I know right! TOTALLY AWESOME PHOTOGRAPHER AND MODEL………I told you I’ve been pretty lucky :).

So with this photoshoot, the image we wanted to portray was elegant, classy and timeless with a touch of edge. Thank you to the talented make up artist Raizel Caringal Signo, nothing says edgy than a good smokey eye with hair slicked back.

We were fortunate enough for the brand name store “Voi” (located at 1/72 Castlereagh Street, Sydney,) to provide the wardrobe.
The day before, I visited the store to pick out the clothes to use for the shoot and saw such a wide range of brand name clothing discounted to such affordable prices. It was so hard to concentrate without wanting to buy something for myself hehehe.

To suit the style we were moving towards, I used an incredible pleated scallop skirt by Gia Mattiolo, with and Aqua body suit for the first edgy look. To meet the elegance and timeless image for the second look, I used a Versace dress and teamed it with a Emporio Armani clutch.

Voi has recently launched their online shopping website and these items are going for grabs so check it out before you miss out – http://www.shopatvoi.com.au

Tomorrow second time lucky, I get the chance to work with Nelson Cortez styling my first bridal photoshoot, wish me luck 🙂 !

As promised, here are the behind the scene and sample photos from the fashion shoot. The finished photos will be up soon so keep an eye out, trust me they are worth waiting for ;).
