HAPPY WEEKEND!!!

I bring you Fashiondiction’s very first giveaway!!!

If you haven’t already heard about KAPTN BRAND, it is a new up and coming street and urban clothing label based in Sydney Australia. Not only is their clothing BANGIN! Minimalistic with sleek black, white and greys plus anyone can rock their gear men and women (you all know how much I love wearing my boyfriend’s clothing HAHAHA!). Not to mention each item practically goes with everything.

“Lead not Follow” is their motto, it is the one thing I truly respect about fashion, the fact that you can express your own individuality through what you wear and that is exactly what drew me to KAPTN. Their clothing inspires you to be creative, be an individual and most importantly be YOU.

What better way to share it than to hold a giveaway for all you beautiful people!!! KAPTN is giving away not one but TWO snapback hats!!!

If your hair is anything like mine, frizzy, uncontrollable, 24 hour bed hair (not in a good way) and just out right CRAZY this maybe the giveaway for you. Between me and you, my secret to a bad hair day is chucking on a snapback and pairing it with a bit of lippy. It honestly saves you the world of time, you don’t have to worry about styling you crazy head of hair. Don’t worry I haven’t forgotten about you men out there, REAL TALK…..it’s a sick hat what more is there to say (see I get you guys hahaha!).

The People of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Sydney

Photos by – Yunn Chin Photography

Since our first Fashion Week, blogging life has been crazier than ever! Definitely a response that we did not expect. However, we were pleasantly surprised and humbled by the amount of people who have taken an interest in what we do :). The down side is I have not been able to move at such a rapid pace, thus the delayed posts.
After catching a breath from the chaos, I have been able to re-organise and finally work to getting these posts up to date, starting with this one, YAY!!!

The people of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Sydney were both compelling and intriguing. I never imagined having the opportunity to attend such a celebrated event within the fashion world. In the past, I had imagined it as walking into what I would think is the equivalent of a dream like circus but in fashion. With gorgeous people who wore crazy outfits that were strange, aesthetically confusing, however, entertaining, shocking and at times humorous. I would never be able to make sense of why people would wear what they wore and the thought process behind it…..was it to seek attention, maybe?
It was not until I myself had attended the event, interacted, conversed and immersed myself in Fashion Week that I started to answer those questions.

What I had taken away from the eventful week was that the thought process behind each outfit, it was not for entertainment, earning the right for fashion exclusivity, nor gaining attention from the public or media (for most anyway). It was purely for self expression, creativity and making a personal statement of who you are through what you wore. There was a beauty about it, the concept of wearing what you wanted without the insecurities of boundaries and judgement, usually received from the public who easily misunderstands an individuals fashion choice. Fashion Week was a chance to be expressive, use fashion as a language and communicate with those who share that common understanding. I loved every minute of Fashion Week, it was like Christmas but in different sense hahaha!

Here are some of the styles that caught my eye, some of the people that inspire me and some of the people that I look up to who I had the pleasure of meeting 🙂

Which one is your favourite outfit?

Thanks for visiting and I’ll see you tomorrow with some long overdue outfit posts hehehe.

K is for Konnie, such a pleasure meeting a fellow fashion blogger who is so inspiring with her unique sense of style.

Margaret-Zhang

Who couldn’t forget the stunning Margaret Zhang from Shine By Three, so breathtakingly beautiful and every time I see here I get completely star struck and embarrass myself with unthought of jumbled words (*sigh, shakes head*). Besides the first embarrassing encounter I had with her, I thought It would be best to keep my distance hahaha!. Till next time, maybe I’ll have the guts to say hi again.

MBFWA_2014_NicoleWarne

Of course my absolute favourite fashion blogger Nicole Warne from Gary Pepper Vintage. She is the epitome of beauty, inside and out, the very person who inspired me to start my road into fashion and the person who inspires me till this day. It was such a dream come true being in the presence of blogger royalty.

Outfit Post – My Go To Outfit

Top – August Street | Boyfriend Jeans – Jay Jays | Heels – Wittner

Photos taken by – Yunn Chin Photography

It’s almost time to go back to college but I thought I would share an outfit that I have been living in during the holiday period.

On the days that I’m not working especially on weekends, I want to wear something that’s comfortable, simple yet edgy. So I turn to the ultimate basics -jeans and a t-shirt.

This is my go to outfit on the days that I’m feeling a little insecure about my figure, especially after a night of scoffing down pizza (hahaha! super classy).

Without looking to relaxed, I use contrast and a pop of colour to add that edge. Which is why I absolutely love this t-shirt from August Street. Not only is the material kind to your skin but the back black panel of the T-shirt flatters your figure with the contrast of colour and length.

Another item that I have been living in are these Zebra white leather heels from Wittner. With supportive straps and block heels, they are by far the most comfortable shoes I have worn.

To finish off the look, I tie my hair up in a relaxed high ponytail and wear a colorful shade lippy. This shade is Diva from MAC, what can I say I am a MAC kinda girl hehehe.

This outfit is perfect for a casual brunch or even a dinner date with girlfriends, that’s why I have constantly recycled this look during the holiday period.

What’s your go outfit for the holidays?

Thanks again for visiting and I’ll see you guys and girls soon with another outfit post 😉

Outfit post – Time to get excited!

Photos by – Yunn Chin Photography

Crop Top – ASOS | Shorts – American Apparel | Sneakers – Nike Air

YAY!!!!!!! I made it! I survived! My first year of college is finally finished. I am officially in holiday mode; besides the fact I’m still working. Never the less, it is one less big thing to worry about.

The last couple of weeks of college have been hell; my hard drive failed on me a day before an assessment was due and on top of that I lost everything!!! From my hard time spent completing assessments, to the photos from my high school days, all my files were gone. After crying for a good couple of hours, I picked myself up and got the job done.

Now with the stress gone I am so excited to finally concentrate on the blog, which is most needed and surprisingly therapeutic. Sharing a bit of my thoughts and expressing my tastes in fashion with you guys, makes me feel like I’m catching up with good friends (wow, I make myself sound like such a loner hahahahaha!).

Back when I started blogging, Chin and me use to set aside time to look for a good location to shoot and we would make it a date :). Sometimes my brother would come with us, we would have such a good day together and this would show in the photos we took. However, taking on college for the first year whilst working changed that and we instead, we had to squeeze in 15 min here and there just so we can produce some photos.

I’m so excited to finally get back into in without the whole time factor creeping over our shoulders.

There are so many things I have coming up on the blog; store launches, events, outfit posts and photo shoots I have styled. I’m so excited I just can’t wait to show you! So stay tuned because it is all coming up in the next couple of weeks!

But for now, here is and outfit that I wore to the Beyonce Mrs. Carter world tour; we were right next to the front stage (AMAZING, best concert I have ever been to!!) so I knew I had to go with something fun, practical and comfortable because I would be dancing my ass off hehehe.

I found this top on ASOS, at first I was unsure about it but after a while, it grew on me and now I freaking love it!!! It’s so colourfull and comfortable, I especially love the subtle pops of metallic through the bold print. Since the top is visually busy, I teamed it with basic black denim shorts and super old Nike Air sneakers that I’ve kept since my sixteenth birthday (not bad for 7 year old sneakers).

Thanks for visiting and stay tuned for my next post, which is the Ixiah store launch!!!

Mixed Business

Hat – Stussy | Cardigan – Vintage | Disco Pants – American Apparel | Top – Supre | Sneakers – Nike | lippy – Rebel by MAC

Photographer – Yunn Chin

I’m all for dressing the way you want without caring what anyone else thinks. However, with so many guidelines and rules around dress codes for work, college and everyday events, drilled into our subconscious. We find ourselves asking questions like “Does this look respectable?” “ Is this too crazy?” or “ Is this appropriate”.

Besides the fact that my work and college are not very strict about dress code, it still doesn’t stop the questions that affect my insecurities.

The two days that these rules and dress code regulations don’t apply are the Weekends!

I view my weekends as my creative escape; these are the days I wear whatever I want without a second thought.

This outfit is something I threw on in seconds rushing to get out the house. I was aiming for something warm, comfortable, fun and colourful. I mixed the old with the new, wearing a vintage cardigan and showed off my Nike’s with my teal polka-dot Stussy hat.

What do you wear to mix things up in your wardrobe?

Varsity Blues – Football Jersey Trend

I’ve been seeing these tops, shirts and crops around everywhere, on blogs, celebrities, even on catwalks.  Though I wasn’t into it first, the style has really grown on me and now I just can’t stop the urge from purchasing every top I see.

Speaking of which, I bought one just today in Topman. It’s made for men but hey, the baggier the better.

Something about women wearing men’s sports shirts shouts sexy, plus I’m sure it’s everyman’s fantasy.

Personally I love this new trend because you can wear it casually and dress it up with some pumps. Not to mention that it is super comfortable, I’ve got to admit I’ve been converted.

This is definitely a style that I’ll be rocking throughout 2013, so keep an eye out for my outfit posts.

Do you love it or hate it?
