Fashiondiction’s First Birthday

To get you guys updated, you haven’t heard from me in a bit because I have been working on some really special posts for the month of March, since it is…….*drum roll* THE 1ST BIRTHDAY OF FASHIONDICTION!!!! WOOT WOOT!

February is the month that we started the blog but March was when we officially launched Fashiondiction and WOW!!! I can’t believe it has already been a year!
So much has changed, we have progressed far more than we had anticipated and what started as a personal hobby has grown into something completely unexpected.

So for Fashiondiction’s birthday celebration month we will be looking back into our fashion looks, outfits that never made it on the blog, special photoshoots, plus so much more (but I’m not saying anymore so you’ll just have to wait and see).

On the very last day of the month keep an eye out because you won’t want to miss our last post 😉

To start it off here are all the outfit posts from the past year!!!

Outfit Post – Maxi Dresses

Maxi dress – O’NEILL

Photos by – Yunn Chin Photography

So much has happened since the last time I posted, one of which being, within two weeks I have now unexpectedly moved to a new place (CRAZY!!!). This explains why I haven’t posted for more than a week (eeeek! Sorry guys)

I am now also back at college, and there are so many new projects that I am undertaking (more exciting news on this later 😉 ).  On top of all the craziness, I am now currently in Melbourne, finally getting some needed time away.

Just before the sunny weather comes to a halt and Autumn settles in, I thought I would sneak one more cheeky summer outfit post.

I have always stayed away from wearing maxi dresses because of the fact that I thought it made me look shorter than I already am. But once I tried one on, my insecurities went out the window and now it is one of my favourite things to wear for sunny weather.
I love how you can wear it to a casual BBQ and dress it up for a dinner date with your favourite person.
I was fortunate enough to get this baby on sale, the pastel floral prints had me at hello and I had to have it.

Next month will be Fashiondiction’s 1 year birthday WOOT WOOT!
Be sure to stay tuned because I’ll be posting some really exciting stuff to celebrate 🙂 !!!!!

Thanks for visiting and I’ll catch you guys and girls soon 😉

Outfit Post – Mini Road Trip

HIS  T-shirt – LRG | Shoes- LRG | Hat – LRG

HELLO :)!!!

I know this post is exactly a week late; unfortunately I was completely bedridden with a sinus virus last week and for the life of me I could not even lift a finger.

Finally out of my prison of immobility, I’m super excited to share this outfit post with you all!

A couple of weekends ago, Chin and I decided to do a mini road trip to Wollongong, a city that is a 2-hour drive away from Sydney.

It was a really hot summer day, so I thought I would wear something fun, casual and girly. I managed to pull out this old silk, crochet trimmed crop, which I have had for almost 6 years and paired it with high-waisted shorts.
The piping on the shorts, visually adds length to your legs and having longer looking legs is never a bad thing, am I right ladies? hehehe.

I matched the crop with fun laced flats and wore light make up to give it more of that summer feel (to be honest, I hate wearing a lot of make up in summer, because of the hot weather, it just feels like my face has melted off by the end of the day hahahaha).

It was a super fun day; we also visited the Nan Tien Temple, which I thought was absolutely beautiful! Next time your in Wollongong I’d definitely recommend checking it out :).

Now, I mentioned before in my previous posts, that taking photos in front of a big camera in public is very daunting. No matter how many times I do it, I never seem to completely get use to it.
So with this outfit post, Chin and I thought we would try something different; we brought along the camera and decided to do a impromptu shoot.
Between you and me, it was so much better than standing in front of a camera and “posing”. I’ve said it before; I am not in anyway shape or form a model, so this way of taking photos was more in my comfort zone. It was a more realistic view into how I am and how I wear my clothes.

With that said, every now and then we will be doing these types of photos, just to spice things up.

Thanks for visiting!
I’ll see you on Thursday and I promise this time I won’t be sick to miss it 😉

Outfit Post – Summer Swimwear Part 2

Bikini Top – Victoria’s Secret | Bikini Bottom – American Apparel

Photos taken by – Yunn Chin Photography

HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY EVERYONE!!!

I love 60s fashion so much that I just couldn’t help but do a part 2 of the 60s swimwear inspired outfit post.
Just like in part 1, I mixed and matched the bikini bottoms from American Apparel and bikini top from Victoria’s Secret.
The bright floral prints and eccentric summer colours have summer fun all over it and this is exactly why it is one of my favourite things to wear to the beach.

As you’ve guessed from my greeting, it’s Australia day here down under!!!
It’s the one day in Australia that we celebrate being truly Aussie; going to the beach, having BBQs with the fam bams, meeting up with loved ones and pretty much spending all day in the sun.

With that said, I’m going to keep it short and sweet today but wherever you are, in Australia or not, I hope your are having an awesome weekend 🙂

Thanks for visiting and I’m looking forward to catching up with you on Tuesday with a new outfit post 😉

Bikini Top – Victoria’s Secret | Bikini Bottom – American Apparel

Now it’s no secret that I am in love with 60s fashion. If you haven’t already guessed from seeing the 60s inspired photoshoot I styled last year, I have a lot of clothes that have a 60s resemblance and that doesn’t excuse the swimwear I have hiding in my closet.

For years I had constantly been on the search to finding high-waisted swimwear, it wasn’t particularly popular at the time (people did say it reminded them of their grandmothers). But to me, I saw it as classic, elegant and most importantly it covered my incredibly deep belly button (no really, I’m not just saying that, it is seriously a deep looking belly button hahaha!).
It wasn’t until, my trip to America, that I had finally found bottoms that were perfect! Of course I had found it in American Apparel, one of my favourite clothing brands, which usually has fun, youthful and modern fashion.
I mixed and matched the bottoms with a cute bikini top from Victoria’s Secret, that I had also scored in America. This top was the perfect balance of cute and playful, not to mention it fits like a dream!

I don’t usually wear lipstick or make up to the beach hahahaha! I thought it would just be fun to include it in this post and to pay homage to 60s fashion.

Thanks again for visiting and stay tuned for part 2 😉

Ixiah Store Launch

Photos taken by – Yunn Chin Photography

If you remember Last Month on the blog, Ixiah, an unbelievable label released their Resort 13-14 summer collection.

For those of you who have just tuned in; Ixiah is a label I came across for the first time at Fashion Weekend and immediately fell in love with the unique, intricate and gorgeous designs from designer Krystel Davis.

A couple of weeks ago I was invited to their very own store launch at level 1 Mid City Centre, Pitt St. in Sydney. I was so excited for the event, I couldn’t wait to see the collection up close and personal, plus I had my eye on this stunning Aztec print maxi dress hehehe.

The set up was incredible! From the layered necklaces and neckpieces to the simplest strand on a garment, the pieces on the mirrored manikins were styled to absolute perfection. There is so much personality and difference in the designs of the collection and it was so beautifully translated through the layout of the store. The staff was so kind and welcoming, already a handful of people at the event were trying on pieces from the collection.

I also got to meet the designer behind the label, the incredibly talented Krystel Davis. I had spent the night trying to work up the courage to speak to her. Chin (partner/photographer) was so surprised, he said “You’ve never been like this before” and he was right! Usually I just go for it, however, this time I came down with a case of being starstuck. Just before I left I finally snuck in a somewhat nervous conversation, she was gorgeous, amazing and so sweet!

The collection will only be temporarily open to the public at their pop up store in level 1 Mid City Centre, Pitt St. in Sydney. So as soon as I get my Christmas shopping out of the way I will be back with a vengeance and shop to my hearts content.

Here are some snaps from the event:

Spotted Crystal Ling from Reebonz, I was so happy to run into a familiar face 🙂

The models were amazingly styled, they seriously looked like amazons, and as usual  I look tiny next to them hehehe.

Ixiah_opening_05With the designer Krystel Davis, she looked absolutely stunning in her very own designs. I especially loved how the necklaces were layered and used as an accessory over her heels…..amazing.

Thank you again for stopping by and stay tuned on my next outfit post 😉

Have a good weekend!

Outfit post – Time to get excited!

Crop Top – ASOS | Shorts – American Apparel | Sneakers – Nike Air

YAY!!!!!!! I made it! I survived! My first year of college is finally finished. I am officially in holiday mode; besides the fact I’m still working. Never the less, it is one less big thing to worry about.

The last couple of weeks of college have been hell; my hard drive failed on me a day before an assessment was due and on top of that I lost everything!!! From my hard time spent completing assessments, to the photos from my high school days, all my files were gone. After crying for a good couple of hours, I picked myself up and got the job done.

Now with the stress gone I am so excited to finally concentrate on the blog, which is most needed and surprisingly therapeutic. Sharing a bit of my thoughts and expressing my tastes in fashion with you guys, makes me feel like I’m catching up with good friends (wow, I make myself sound like such a loner hahahahaha!).

Back when I started blogging, Chin and me use to set aside time to look for a good location to shoot and we would make it a date :). Sometimes my brother would come with us, we would have such a good day together and this would show in the photos we took. However, taking on college for the first year whilst working changed that and we instead, we had to squeeze in 15 min here and there just so we can produce some photos.

I’m so excited to finally get back into in without the whole time factor creeping over our shoulders.

There are so many things I have coming up on the blog; store launches, events, outfit posts and photo shoots I have styled. I’m so excited I just can’t wait to show you! So stay tuned because it is all coming up in the next couple of weeks!

But for now, here is and outfit that I wore to the Beyonce Mrs. Carter world tour; we were right next to the front stage (AMAZING, best concert I have ever been to!!) so I knew I had to go with something fun, practical and comfortable because I would be dancing my ass off hehehe.

I found this top on ASOS, at first I was unsure about it but after a while, it grew on me and now I freaking love it!!! It’s so colourfull and comfortable, I especially love the subtle pops of metallic through the bold print. Since the top is visually busy, I teamed it with basic black denim shorts and super old Nike Air sneakers that I’ve kept since my sixteenth birthday (not bad for 7 year old sneakers).

Thanks for visiting and stay tuned for my next post, which is the Ixiah store launch!!!
