HAPPY WEEKEND!!!

I bring you Fashiondiction’s very first giveaway!!!

If you haven’t already heard about KAPTN BRAND, it is a new up and coming street and urban clothing label based in Sydney Australia. Not only is their clothing BANGIN! Minimalistic with sleek black, white and greys plus anyone can rock their gear men and women (you all know how much I love wearing my boyfriend’s clothing HAHAHA!). Not to mention each item practically goes with everything.

“Lead not Follow” is their motto, it is the one thing I truly respect about fashion, the fact that you can express your own individuality through what you wear and that is exactly what drew me to KAPTN. Their clothing inspires you to be creative, be an individual and most importantly be YOU.

What better way to share it than to hold a giveaway for all you beautiful people!!! KAPTN is giving away not one but TWO snapback hats!!!

If your hair is anything like mine, frizzy, uncontrollable, 24 hour bed hair (not in a good way) and just out right CRAZY this maybe the giveaway for you. Between me and you, my secret to a bad hair day is chucking on a snapback and pairing it with a bit of lippy. It honestly saves you the world of time, you don’t have to worry about styling you crazy head of hair. Don’t worry I haven’t forgotten about you men out there, REAL TALK…..it’s a sick hat what more is there to say (see I get you guys hahaha!).

Outfit Posts – Never Before Seen (Unedited)

Hi Everyone!!!

Through the past year that I’ve been blogging, taking outfit photos is not all glamorous as the photos depict.

Most of my outfit posts have been taken by my photographer boyfriend, Chin and as compatible as we are, there are still the rare days that we don’t see eye to eye with the imagery that we are trying to translate in our photos.

Apart from that, there are also the occasional moments of when I’m having a bad day and I just don’t feel like taking pictures of my gloomy self.

Then there are the days that I feel unsure of myself, the days that I’m feeling super insecure………….THE UGLY DAYS! You know what I’m talking about hahaha!

Well this is exactly what this post is ALL about 🙂

All the outfits that never made it on the blog for all the above reasons and for whatever reasons that made us not share it at the time…..… until now kekeke.

So to celebrate the year that has past, here are never before seen outfits (unedited) 🙂

P.S. sorry if I’m grumpy in some of them hahahaha, at least you’ll be able to tell, which photos I was having a bad day in.

Thanks for visiting I’ll see you guys in my next post 😀

Fashiondiction’s First Birthday

To get you guys updated, you haven’t heard from me in a bit because I have been working on some really special posts for the month of March, since it is…….*drum roll* THE 1ST BIRTHDAY OF FASHIONDICTION!!!! WOOT WOOT!

February is the month that we started the blog but March was when we officially launched Fashiondiction and WOW!!! I can’t believe it has already been a year!
So much has changed, we have progressed far more than we had anticipated and what started as a personal hobby has grown into something completely unexpected.

So for Fashiondiction’s birthday celebration month we will be looking back into our fashion looks, outfits that never made it on the blog, special photoshoots, plus so much more (but I’m not saying anymore so you’ll just have to wait and see).

On the very last day of the month keep an eye out because you won’t want to miss our last post 😉

To start it off here are all the outfit posts from the past year!!!

Outfit Post – Summer Swimwear Part 2

Bikini Top – Victoria’s Secret | Bikini Bottom – American Apparel

Photos taken by – Yunn Chin Photography

HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY EVERYONE!!!

I love 60s fashion so much that I just couldn’t help but do a part 2 of the 60s swimwear inspired outfit post.
Just like in part 1, I mixed and matched the bikini bottoms from American Apparel and bikini top from Victoria’s Secret.
The bright floral prints and eccentric summer colours have summer fun all over it and this is exactly why it is one of my favourite things to wear to the beach.

As you’ve guessed from my greeting, it’s Australia day here down under!!!
It’s the one day in Australia that we celebrate being truly Aussie; going to the beach, having BBQs with the fam bams, meeting up with loved ones and pretty much spending all day in the sun.

With that said, I’m going to keep it short and sweet today but wherever you are, in Australia or not, I hope your are having an awesome weekend 🙂

Thanks for visiting and I’m looking forward to catching up with you on Tuesday with a new outfit post 😉

Now it’s no secret that I am in love with 60s fashion. If you haven’t already guessed from seeing the 60s inspired photoshoot I styled last year, I have a lot of clothes that have a 60s resemblance and that doesn’t excuse the swimwear I have hiding in my closet.

For years I had constantly been on the search to finding high-waisted swimwear, it wasn’t particularly popular at the time (people did say it reminded them of their grandmothers). But to me, I saw it as classic, elegant and most importantly it covered my incredibly deep belly button (no really, I’m not just saying that, it is seriously a deep looking belly button hahaha!).
It wasn’t until, my trip to America, that I had finally found bottoms that were perfect! Of course I had found it in American Apparel, one of my favourite clothing brands, which usually has fun, youthful and modern fashion.
I mixed and matched the bottoms with a cute bikini top from Victoria’s Secret, that I had also scored in America. This top was the perfect balance of cute and playful, not to mention it fits like a dream!

I don’t usually wear lipstick or make up to the beach hahahaha! I thought it would just be fun to include it in this post and to pay homage to 60s fashion.

Thanks again for visiting and stay tuned for part 2 😉

What’s your preferred swimwear attire?

Outfit post – Time to get excited!

Photos by – Yunn Chin Photography

Crop Top – ASOS | Shorts – American Apparel | Sneakers – Nike Air

YAY!!!!!!! I made it! I survived! My first year of college is finally finished. I am officially in holiday mode; besides the fact I’m still working. Never the less, it is one less big thing to worry about.

The last couple of weeks of college have been hell; my hard drive failed on me a day before an assessment was due and on top of that I lost everything!!! From my hard time spent completing assessments, to the photos from my high school days, all my files were gone. After crying for a good couple of hours, I picked myself up and got the job done.

Now with the stress gone I am so excited to finally concentrate on the blog, which is most needed and surprisingly therapeutic. Sharing a bit of my thoughts and expressing my tastes in fashion with you guys, makes me feel like I’m catching up with good friends (wow, I make myself sound like such a loner hahahahaha!).

Back when I started blogging, Chin and me use to set aside time to look for a good location to shoot and we would make it a date :). Sometimes my brother would come with us, we would have such a good day together and this would show in the photos we took. However, taking on college for the first year whilst working changed that and we instead, we had to squeeze in 15 min here and there just so we can produce some photos.

I’m so excited to finally get back into in without the whole time factor creeping over our shoulders.

There are so many things I have coming up on the blog; store launches, events, outfit posts and photo shoots I have styled. I’m so excited I just can’t wait to show you! So stay tuned because it is all coming up in the next couple of weeks!

But for now, here is and outfit that I wore to the Beyonce Mrs. Carter world tour; we were right next to the front stage (AMAZING, best concert I have ever been to!!) so I knew I had to go with something fun, practical and comfortable because I would be dancing my ass off hehehe.

I found this top on ASOS, at first I was unsure about it but after a while, it grew on me and now I freaking love it!!! It’s so colourfull and comfortable, I especially love the subtle pops of metallic through the bold print. Since the top is visually busy, I teamed it with basic black denim shorts and super old Nike Air sneakers that I’ve kept since my sixteenth birthday (not bad for 7 year old sneakers).

Thanks for visiting and stay tuned for my next post, which is the Ixiah store launch!!!

Outfit post and Personal Thoughts – Self Esteem

Cat Print Shirt – Vintage | Pants – American Apparel | Converse Chuck Lites – Hype | Bowler Hat – Vintage

Photos taken by Yunn Chin Photography

Last month my self-esteem suffered a drastic decline. Don’t get wrong, I am not complaining bout my body type or the way I look. I just suffered from evil thoughts that were spawned from my own insecurities.

The bad diets and the 2 months abandoning my routine workout at the gym finally caught up to me. I didn’t experience drastic changes in my body; it was just the way I felt. Brought on by abusing my body with the unusual amount junk food and lack of exercise.

As much as I celebrate loving yourself and the way you look not matter how big, small, curvy or thin you are. Sometimes, negative and unreasonable thoughts just seem to get in the way.

On days that I’m suffering from my own mental block, I wear slimming colors like black. I wear baggier shirts, prints are usually my best friend and a little touch of colour also helps to brighten my day.

Now, back at the gym, strenuously trying to get back into my old routine by attempting a healthier practice of eating. I already feel that little bit better, prouder and this has solved the unreasonable put-downs I put on myself.

Please tell me I’m not the only one that suffers from their own metal abuse (wow I sound crazy). If you too suffer from this, I’m curious to know what do you wear to cover the bulge?

Thanks for visiting 🙂

I’ll be posting some exciting things this week so stay tuned.

Outfit post – Topman Football Jersey

Shirt – Topman | Disco Pants – American Apparel | Hat – Stussy | Shoes – Shubar

Photographer – Yunn Chin

There I was having second thoughts feeling a little vulnerable about posting my personal and private thoughts.

But Wow, thank you so much for all your kind words and support from my earlier post. It is really comforting to know that I’m not the only one that struggles to post consistently, with so many any other commitments that get in the way. So thank you again 🙂

It has been a while since I’ve posted an outfit and even though I’m still really excited to share the runway shows I attended at Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival. I think it’s time to spice things up and bring out some of the outfits that I’ve been wearing since then.

It’s the second week back to college; sitting through lectures can be tiring and at times very uncomfortable. Because of this, I find myself wearing more casual, chilled and comfortable clothing to keep me going through the day.

A big trend that I have fallen in love with is the football jersey. It is so cute and you can wear it almost anywhere by dressing it down or up by paring it with heels and a skirt. I actually found this jersey in the Topman while I was looking for something for my boyfriend. Even though it’s made for men, I thought it was a good steal because of how comfortable it is due to it’s baggy make. Another plus is that both me and boyfriend Chin can wear it, you know what they say “sharing is caring” hehehe 🙂

What do you wear that’s comfortable and gets you through your day?

Featured in Booodl – Style Scouted by Margaret Zhang

Last week at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival, I met the amazing Margaret Zhang. She was there style scouting for preview.Booodl.com.
She is one of the Fashion bloggers (blog –Shine by Three) that inspired me to start blogging not to mention she is so amazing and breathtakingly beautiful. So you can imagine how starstruck I was when I finally met her.

As soon as I saw her, I started hyperventilating like a teen girl meeting one of the boys from one direction (sorry, it’s the only comparison I could think of -.-‘). I tried to play it cool but in the corner of my eye I saw her coming towards me and as soon as she asked if she could take a photo of my outfit, everything went downhill from there.
My excitement quickly turned into uncontrollable word vomit, attacking her with overly excited sentences “I know you! I love all your outfits, you are amazing!” I could hear myself embarrassing myself and the little voice of reason told me to stop but I just couldn’t. It was like a train wreck that I just stood back and helplessly watched.

I’ve been kicking myself since and running it over and over again in my head, thinking about how I would of done it differently without embarrassing myself. But I guess on the bright side it has turned into a funny story to share.

So Margaret if you ever read this (which I don’t blame you if you don’t) sorry for the overly excited reaction and thank you for giving me such a memorable story to tell.

Here is a snap from the website preview.Booodl.com. It’s just a preview to their up and coming official site but they feature some pretty cool runway shows from the festival. Plus they have some interesting stuff on there which makes it worth checking it out.

I’ll be posting more photos on this outfit soon so keep a look out and next post I’ll be featuring the looks seen on the runway, so stay tuned.

Hope you guys enjoyed my embarrassing encounter with my equivalent to a celebrity.

Thanks for visiting 🙂
